I just remembered. April 8 is the 10th anniversary of when we heard about Kurdt’s suicide. That went slow. Imagine if he were still alive, all that we would have to enjoy and read into and share. I had that day off, and listened to Matt Pinfield interview Greg Dulli on the radio, 106.3. That night, I went to see the Afghan Whigs at City Gardens with Nick and Kenny. Greg addressed the issue when he came out, but the crowd was fuzzy about it. Still in a daze. I wonder what that chick who was asking for dollars is doing right now. Or that bartender chick who was sliding me free beers, then called me once—what is she up to? Kenny left a sock in my apartment that night. One sock. What the hell happened to the other one? I guess we’ll never know. I brought that one sock back to him with it sealed in a ziplock baggie. April 8, 1994.
