I know it’s trendy to hate the Yankees. Take it from a Red Sox fan. But YES (The Yankee Channel on my cable network) just replayed the Jim Abbott no hitter from September 4, 1993. It was a thrill to watch. Not because he was dominating, not because the Indians couldn’t figure him out, not because it was a different era in Yankee history. It was because the man only had one hand.
If a one-handed man can pitch a no hitter, what can you do?

If you saw the movie, then you have a tear in your heart. The soundtrack is the suture. It is the glassy bejewleled wonderment of human emotion. Robbie Keane equalled Niall Quinn's Irish record of 21 international goals as the Ireland opened their World Cup qualifying campaign with a 3-0 win over Cyprus on Saturday. Keane rounded off Ireland's scoring with a 55th-minute penalty after first half goals from Clinton Morrison and Andy Reid in the Group Four game at Lansdowne Road. Morrison, who had last scored for Ireland 13 months ago, put the home side in front just past the half hour when he sent a glancing header home. (AP WIRE)
